Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account details: email address or phone number (if you sign in with an SMS code), name, and profile picture (if you sign in with Google).

Your devices: a random ID for each browser you signed in on, the browser and operating system (e.g. "Chrome · Windows") and when it was last used - to limit the number of devices on an account and show you their list.

Lesson content: what you type or say to the teacher, the teacher's answers, whiteboard content, saved notebooks, and files you upload (images, PDFs, and videos).

Voice: when you use the microphone, speech is turned into text. In a browser that recognizes speech itself (such as Chrome on a computer) this happens in the browser, and Chrome sends the audio to Google for it. In other browsers the recording is sent to our server and on to the speech-recognition provider, only to turn it into text. We keep only the text, not recordings of your voice.

Teachers and businesses: the teacher's or business's profile (name, picture, description), the lessons and courses they build in the studio, and - for a teacher who chooses to make a voice of their own - a short recording of themselves reading a consent sentence. The recording is sent to the voice provider to create the voice, and we keep only the voice's ID. The voice is used only for that teacher's lessons, and is deleted when they make another or ask to delete it.

Ratings: whoever finishes a lesson may rate it and write a sentence. The rating is kept with the account.

Subscription and payment: your subscription status and PayPal subscription ID. We do not receive or store payment card details.

Usage data: a message counter (for usage limits), technical logs for troubleshooting and security, and general, anonymous site-visit statistics (which pages were viewed and how many visits there were - without cookies, without storing anything on your device, and without identifying you). If you accepted cookies, also usage analytics: which pages you viewed, what you clicked, and a recording of the on-screen activity (never what you typed, and inside the app no text at all - so no lesson content).

Camera: the Service does not use your camera.

2. How We Use Information

To provide lessons and the teacher's answers, save lessons so you can return to them, manage subscriptions and billing, send account-related notices, prevent abuse, troubleshoot incidents, and improve the Service. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

3. Who Receives Information

We use third-party providers to run the Service, and each receives only what it needs:

OpenAI - conversation content and files you upload, so the teacher can answer, and the audio of an uploaded video, for transcription. Under OpenAI's API terms this data is not used to train its models.

Google (Firebase) - account sign-in and storage of account and lesson data; and speech recognition in Chrome, as described above.

ElevenLabs - the text the teacher speaks, to turn it into voice; the microphone recording in browsers that don't recognize speech themselves, to turn it into text; and the recording of a teacher who makes a voice of their own, to create it.

A hosting and infrastructure provider - website hosting and general, anonymous visit statistics.

An email delivery provider - your email address and the content of the emails we send you.

An SMS provider (through Google Firebase) - your phone number, to send the sign-in code or the code that verifies it for the free trial.

PostHog (servers in Europe) - usage analytics. Without cookie consent: only the general, anonymous visit statistics described above (your IP address is used to count visits and is not stored). If you accepted cookies: also the clicks and screen recordings described above, plus your account ID, name and email, to link them to your account.

PayPal - payment processing, under its own privacy policy.

Teachers and businesses: a teacher sees the ratings and sentences written about their lessons. The public sees only the rater's first name, or "anonymous". If you joined a business through its invite link, the business sees your name, your email, your progress in its lessons, and your ratings and problem reports on those lessons. It does not see your other conversations and lessons.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

4. Transfers Abroad

These providers' servers are outside Israel (mainly in the United States and Europe). Using the Service includes consent to transferring information to them, in line with the Israeli Privacy Protection (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad) Regulations.

5. Minors

The Service is also meant for students under 18, who may use it with the consent of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian may contact us to access, correct, or request deletion of the minor's information.

6. Retention

We keep information while your account is active, so you can return to your lessons. After a request to delete your account, we delete the account and its lessons within 30 days, except information we must keep by law (such as billing records). Some providers may keep copies for a limited period under their own policies.

So that the free trial is given once per phone number, we keep a one-way code (hash) of the verified number, also after the account is deleted. The number cannot be recovered from it, and it is used only to check whether that number has already had a trial.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures, such as encryption in transit, access permissions, and restricted admin access, to reduce the risk of unauthorized access. No system is completely secure.

8. Your Rights

Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 1981, you may access your information, ask us to correct inaccurate information, and request deletion of your account and information. To do so, email us; we will respond within 30 days.

9. Emails

We send account and service emails, such as verification, subscription and billing updates, and plan changes. Marketing emails are sent only with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

10. Cookies and Local Storage

The Service stores your sign-in and your settings (such as microphone and accessibility settings) on your device - these are necessary for the Service to work. General visit statistics are collected without tracking cookies.

The full usage analytics (PostHog - clicks, screen recordings and the link to your account) runs only if you chose "Accept" on the cookie notice. "Necessary only" keeps only the general, anonymous visit count, without cookies, and you can change your choice at any time from "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the site.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will announce material changes on the site or by email.
