Private math tutor
2 min read
In math, a small gap in understanding quickly becomes a wall. A good private tutor finds the gap and closes it - before moving on. On Avatutor the math tutor explains out loud, writes every step on the board, and lets you do the next step yourself.

From the basics to the finals
Long division, fractions and the times table for younger students; equations, geometry and trigonometry in middle and high school; studying a function, sequences, probability and derivatives for the high school finals; vectors, matrices and integrals at university.
Why, not just how
Instead of memorizing a formula, the tutor shows why it works: an equation as a balance, a derivative as the slope of a tangent. When you understand why - you remember it in the exam too.
You solve, the tutor guides
The tutor explains each step, asks you what the next step is, and gives a hint before the full solution. Made a mistake? The tutor corrects it gently and explains why. That way the knowledge stays with you.
Snap a question and go from there
Stuck on an exercise from your notebook or a past exam? Take a photo and attach it, and the tutor starts right there.
This is how it looks in the app
Short demos from the app itself - Noam, our sample student, learns with the teacher. Recorded in Hebrew.

Pieces of the same size
1:50Noam added a half and a third and got two fifths. Eti shows with pizzas why that can't be - and how cutting into sixths solves it. Then Noam adds a third and a quarter himself.

An equation is a balance
1:30Alon shows why you do the same to both sides: 3x + 5 = 20 as a balance - take five from each side, divide by three, and Noam finds x himself.

Six questions, one graph
2:00Alon and Noam study a function by the checklist: domain, intercepts, derivative, the rise-and-fall table - and only then draw it. The minimum sits right on the axis.
Frequently asked questions
What age is it for?
From elementary school to university. The tutor adapts the explanation to the level - from pizza slices for fractions to limits and integrals.
Can I practice for a test?
Yes. Tell the tutor what the test covers, and the tutor explains, gives exercises step by step, and checks your solutions.
What if I still don’t understand after the explanation?
Say so. The tutor will explain again, a different way - with an example, a drawing or smaller numbers - as many times as it takes.
Does it replace my teacher at school?
No, it complements them: a place to ask what you didn’t get to ask in class, at your own pace and at a time that suits you.
